Undergraduate Programs Overview
Nutritional Sciences (NUSC) majors study the relationship between food and health. They integrate knowledge of the use of foods and nutrients by cells, individuals, and communities to promote optimal health and treatment of disease. The Department offers three tracks, i.e., Nutrition, Health, and Disease Prevention, Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and Pre-Medical Profession, through which students can obtain their Bachelors of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences.

Nutrition, Health, and Disease Prevention Track
The Nutrition, Health, and Disease Prevention track includes the basic science courses requires to understand nutrition, together with the core nutrition courses, and then leaves students space in their curriculum to add further courses in their own particular area of interest.

Dietetics is a profession which focuses on the food and nutrition intake of individuals and its relationship to health.

The Nutritional Sciences undergraduate curriculum works well as a preparation for medical school and other health-related professions (Dentistry, Physicians Assistant, Physical Therapy, Naturopathy, etc.).
Research Opportunities
The Nutritional Science Honors Program begins in the junior year. Admissions are by recommendation of the department based on the student’s cumulative GPA (3.4 or above) and academic performance.
